I need help!

I don't know how or why, but Lara's auto lock-on has been disabled and I haven't got a clue how to rectify it.
Any suggestions?

Also another major problem I've got at the moment is that I only seem to be able to play (or modify) my original tutorial-based level. Whenever I try to create a new level with other WAD's & textures it either crashes when I try to save or when I try to load it in the level converter it causes an "illegal operation..." message when it starts to build.

Any suggestions on either problem would be much appreciated.

PS I've already tried un-installing & re-installing the whole program but this didn't make a scrap of difference (it didn't even delete the level I was working on).
I suspect the problems started when I tried creating a playable level out of the title flyby rooms (a case of trying to run before I could crawl)

If you mean auto-aiming I can help you with that. Start the game and at the title screen pick options. Scroll down to targeting. Now use the left and right arrow keys to switch between manual and auto.

Make sure when you begin a new project (i.e. you open the editor and load a WAD file of your choosing, etc.) that you OUTPUT THE WAD USING THE SAME NAME AS THE .WAS OBJECT FILE YOU LOADED. If you load karnak.was, you must output it as karnak.tom. It will automatically write over the karnak.tr4 file, then you must select the karnak level to play it......Also, don't forget to place Lara in the level! It WILL crash if she is not placed in the level.
