The first thing that comes to mind is an incorrect resolution setting. Your desktop resolution must be set to 1024x768x16-bit color. Did you install the editor to the default location? Changing this can also cause problems.IP: Logged |

I think I have the desktop resolution at 1024x768x16 bit but it might be on 32 bit. I have no clue how to change the 32 bit to 16 bit. But I changed the resolution by going to diplay properties in display in control panel. I think that part was done right, if not please tell me how to change the resolution correctly. Also I need to know how do you install the editor to the default function. I also think I got this right as well. I left it to install in core design like it said. Still though I get the illegal opperation note. However sometimesI get a pop-up that says direct X not installed properly but I don't know what could have gone wrong? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!------------------ cliffjumper IP: Logged |

It sounds like you got the editor installed ok so lets double check your resolution setting. Go back to the display properties>settings page and find a box named Colors. In the text box it should say "High Color (16-bit)". If it doesn't, use the arrow button and change it.If that doesn't fix the problem I suggest you go to the Microsoft web page and get the latest version of DirectX 8. IP: Logged |

You also want to make sure you are operating with the latest video card drivers. These are downloadable from the web as well.IP: Logged |
