I would like to know how many people are happy or unhappy with the level editor and how many people think that Eidos and Core owe us new wads, textures and editors.

I'm really quite happy with the level editor, and I don't think Eidos/Core OWES us new wads, textures and editors...

However (yes, there's always one of those, isn't there? ;-))...:

I do think that it would be in Eidos/Core's best interest to provide the public with as much material to build their own levels as they can (and I think they'd be right to ask some money in return): the next generation TR-games will use a superior completely rewritten engine anyway, and most TR-fans that are inclined to buy their games original instead of copying them have already done so by now; anything happening with the 'old' TR-games can be seen as mere publicity for the next generation TR-games...

And what better publicity than a huge amount of enthusiastic fans that'll tell all their friends how utterly great Eidos/Core are?

Meanwhile, the fans would be able to produce truly imaginative levels, maybe even inspire the TR-developers, keep the TR-spirit alive, and everyone will have gained something from it...

Best regards,
Striffelbuur.

You know I couldn't agree more. The only thing they owe us is bug free wads

I'd be happy to give my opinion if I could ever get my level editor to install.
By the way thanks for trying to help.

I've been having fun with the editor. Actually, my only real complaint is that it's time consuming to test your levels (since you have to exit the editor, compile them, etc.) As far as new WADs go, they don't owe us anything, but of course I hope they give them to us anyway.

Actually, I think Eidos would be smart release a compilation of new WADs on a CD-ROM that could be purchased through this site. Of course, if I spend money on it, they'd better be bug-free.

You know where I stand pwhirl, but for everybody else: THE LEVEL EDITOR COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER GIVEN THE TIME IT TOOK FOR THEM TO RELEASE IT.

I would be a happy camper if all the wads were updated and repaired but as it is now
on a scale of 1-10 i'd say im about 6 was a 7 untill they released that last wad.....just
didnt seem right to make something new when you already have something broke to fix

I would LOVE new wads, whether they're free or not. I would gladly pay for them, but it's incredibly frustrating that the T-Rex and many other things that made the TR series great are not available at all. As it stands, I am unhappy with the editor, but that could change if Core decides to give/sell us new WADs. The editor has excellent potential, but without WADs, the editor will surely die a quick death. We can only handle so many levels with the same enemies and puzzles.

Just putting in my two cents.

I would like to see more wads but realized something. We can only use wads from TR 4 and 5 because of the game engine. In order to play our levels we would need 2 new editors one for TR1-2 and one for TR3.

Never give-up! unless the situation is hopeless:)
