The editor is ok, but it takes a long time to create a decent level as the way it is constructed is very bad. I don't like having to use alt-z or the top-down map to move and see different areas. I want to be able to fly around the map and get to wherever I like. If any of you have used Worldcraft to create levels for Half-Life/Counter-Strike, you'll know what I mean. I just feel that the program i very un-user friendly. But i am getting used to it.IP: Logged |

The reason it's not very user-friendly is mainly because it was never intended for use by the public, and was only developed as a tool by the programmers to make creating the levels easier... Alas, this does mean that it takes a bit longer to work things out, but I think it's worth the effort. Best regards, Striffelbuur.

If you want to "fly around" your level while you are building it, press the "Preview" button of the Editor Window Buttons. You'll be able to move around your level as if you're in it using the buttons of your mouse (left button=foward, right button=backwards). IP: Logged |

maniac, that doesn't work for me. When i do a preview, the view doesn't respond well to my input, and it tends to take on a life of its own.

True, the speed of your computer is related to the speed in which you travel around your level. The faster your computer, the faster you move.IP: Logged |

my sister has an Athlon 700 with GeForce and it is the same for her. It doesn't even follow your input, it just moves very slightly. After waiting for a few seconds it will update my movement, but very rapidly, like it is seriously lagging behind my input.IP: Logged |
