That would be no collision, and if I remember correctly this needs to be applied to a triangle-might be wrong though.

How about flooding the pit and texturing the water like the rest of the top rooms floor,it may wave but if the floor is dirt it could be like quicksand. It would give players an indication that something ain't quite right too-I for one HATE blind traps. No imagination!

I think this should work (though I haven't tried it yet)...
Select the pit by clicking on it in the overhead map of the room. Now click on TOGGLE OPACITY 2. The pit will be covered in red squares which can be textured, but the player will still fall through it. This is the technique that's used to create the surface of water rooms, with the only difference being the fact that the room below it isn't designated as a Water Room. You'll also want to make sure that DOUBLE SIDED is on when applying the textures (otherwise you won't see it from the room below.)

I have to agree with the previously posted comment though-- blind traps are really irritating. You should somehow let the player know that they're about to do something dangerous.

Take Gum Drop's advice; traps without any indication that they are there don't do well in levels. But anyway the info you're looking for is on page 38 of the Tomb Raider Level Editor Manual. Good luck!

Even easier is just making it a separate room and texturing the door.
