Hi, I also wanted to make a gorge with a waterfall and I had quite a hard time. If you aren't using a wad with a waterfall object (ie. Catacombs I think) you'll get into trouble. If you're using this wad, just build 3 rooms: -one room (top room) containing the gorge and your playable part but without water -one water room, matching the bottom of the gorge (make it as deep as you want) -one last room, adjacent to the two previous rooms and whose height is at least the height of the top room and the height of the waterfall. After connecting all your rooms ie. top room on top of water room and waterfall room connected 1) to the top room with a first door and 2) to the water room with a second door. In front of this last door (= in front of the junction of the water room and the waterfall room), place the waterfall object. This should be it! I hope you understood what I just said... Otherwise contact me. I also have a way to make waterfalls without the waterfall object but it is a slow flowing waterfall without real pressure! jbckimby@hotmail.comBye IP: Logged |

By the way... to build a ledge on top of the water, it's very easy. When you build the top room, BEFORE CONNECTING IT to the water room underneath, select the shape of the ledge on the floor and elevate it as much as you want (but one (or maybe two) click up is the maximum for Lara to climb out of the water). Once you elevated your floor, then select all the floor (even the ledge) and connect your top room with the water room. The ledge should appear like floating at the surface of the water... I hope not to be too confusingBye IP: Logged |

Hi! You don't have to use the Catacombs / Cleopatra wads to get a waterfall! Just use a texture map from Tomb Raider 3. The TR3 maps include textures for waterfalls. Just apply the texture and set the animation range for the waterfall effect! (kinda like the one in Nevada and India - TR3)Let me know what happens! IP: Logged |

Ohhh, so you have to connect the water room, with top room. But how? You just put them next to each other in 2D View, and press Door? Or something else? HELP!------------------ -= Fredrick Croft =- "I run, but I dont hide" IP: Logged |

OK... to connect the top room ON the water room, you need to have the FLOOR of the top room at the SAME ELEVATION as the CEILING of the water room (are you following me?). Start to work with the "face edit" off. To raise the top room (or lower the water room), use the + and - button next to the Room label under the select room buttons. Once you get the correct elevations, in the working window (the one in which you can see your work in 3D), turn your level in 2D-map and select the top room. With the right mouse button, move it ON TOP of the water room and then, in the bounding room window (the one that shows you only the selected room and situated in the top left corner of the level editor), select all the floor squares and click on Door (the black button), and see what happens... Tell me if this works and helps... To create the water effect, before connecting your rooms, assign the W button only for the water room. Once the rooms are connected, select the top room and highlight the door you just created. Select the Toggle opacity2 button (under the large editor window) Now, select the transparent and double sided buttons and change to "face edit". Then, click on the water textures and apply them to the door... If you did this right, and if I'm clear enough, you should now get a nice swimming pool!!! Good luck and don't hesitate to ask if it still doesn't work...JB IP: Logged |
