Firstly, let me say that you guyz making these levels are not only Laraholics, but bleep fine level creators. I have been stuck on more than one occasion on various levels, lol and that is what makes the level fun to play.

One bitch tho. Creators of .tom files. Whilst I understand what is required to make a working .tr4 file, many of the .tom files simply don't create. That is I think because the other files you use, .raw etc may differ from the ones we (the users) have available. So how about you offer the levels as both a .tom file and a complete .tr4 file??? Think on it please.

Also, don't make it too difficult to create. If there is more than a .tom file (or even less, just a .prj file), just forget it. I couldn't be bothered with all the stuffing around. Remember, there are HEAPS of other levels to try out there. Just my opinion here guyz.

Lastly, the creator of "The Base". Help. How do you get on top of the catamaran??

Your friendly Aussie Tomb Raider fan.

(Should I make a level of Lara underneath Ayres Rock, seeking the mystical "bone" of aboriginal lore and legend??)

I agree with you Torry. Even though it increases download time to include the TR4 file, I think it is far easier to get the TR4 file than have to fuss around with creating it from the .tom file, which as stated, opens up its own can of worms. If the TR4 file is supplied along with the two necessary .dat files (script and english) and any new audio tracks or title page bmp's, depending on whether or not changes were made requiring inclusion of these files, one can quickly get set up to play the new levels as intended, with minimal effort.

Keep your own files backed up in a safe folder then create folders for all the new levels you download. Each of these folders should contain all the extra files and readmes for those levels. If you have the HD space the easiet thing to do is temporarily rename your own trle folder then use a second setup for trying out all the new levels. That way you can copy over the necessary files each time without worrying about screwing up any of your own and you can switch back to your set-up at any time without having to move files around, etc.

We don't have unlimited web space so toms being about a tenth of the size are ideal. We include with all our levels installation instructions including whether they need the revised wads to play etc. You need to know how to use tom2pc to do anything with trle so I don't see the problem
