I'm trying to get trle up and running on my new PC, however I have left the disc at my mothers...don't laugh it's true.

I've copied the trle folder over from my old pc and tom2pc and winroomedit work fine as does setup tomb4, but the game (tomb4.exe) goes sailing back to the desktop before the title screen even loads.

What files does the installer copy to other folders i.e windows/system etc and where can I get them?

I won't be able to get the disc back for at least a fortnight.....Help!!!

Col.

tomb4.exe should be able to run even if the game isn't "installed" as long as you have all the files in the TRLE folder (and subfolders)
make sure you have the DAT files in the root as well as the uklogo.pak file in the data folder
tomb4.exe also need the title.tr4 file in the DATA folder to start

Your prob. sounds pretty familiar... except I didn't leave my disc anywhere.

My system is a bit weird, needs more memory, I think. Sometimes, tomb4.exe will just refuse to run, even if I reinstall everything. After several consecutive tries, if I shut my system down and try to start it back up, windows won't load and I have to use my Startup Disk to restore my registry.

Incredibly annoying.

Try using the default sound card in TR setup.
