john (Moose562)

ps. why with stripx3 i have to upload a wad not a bitmap, cos when i made a costume and saved the bmp and then changed the bitmap and put it back in the costume didn't work. i really like stripx2 and use it more than stripx3!!! i miss number2!!!lol
oh but strpix has is advantage : i can find Laras crack easier!!!!

hey moose
T.P. could obviously explain this much better then me , but I'll take a stab at it. version 3 works quite a bit differently then version 2. i.e. it makes no changes to the texture file. ( unless you export one and modify it, or swap one for another, or changing it's location ect...) what v3 does is change the texture mapping (where the editor will look for textures to be placed on the model ). and this is truly a great feature because It opens up new possibilities. remember the problems we would run into with version2, like trying to make a cropped top for Lara, but one of the textures on her upper torso was also used for her lower back? strpix3 can correct this problem. it really is a great program.

however, if you want it to behave like version2, just don't use the mesh window to apply textures (that's when the mapping is changed ). just use it to find the 1 your looking for, then export that texture to your paint program, work your magic, and import it back into place. in theory you should now be able to save back to wad using only the bmp.

don't get discouraged, I know you'll work it out!
