can anyone out there put all the textures into one big thing so you can select anyone that you want??? that would be excellent!!!

that's not possible, the maximum height of a texture file seems to be 256x2048 pixels

I think it might be possible. You would only be able to use it in texture-editor, but you could then extract across. I will investigate.

Ms. Severi and other texture-meisters..your input would be appreciated.

yes, ofcourse you can always make one big image with Photoshop where all the textures are in, I've thought about that before, but that will have some disadvantages:
1. the filesize would rocket sky high
2. it would take ages to load (for people with a bit older pc like mine)
3. sucha big image would eat up all your memory

but if someone can prove me wrong, please do

I wonder how Eidos did it.....

My texture file is 256x4096 and it works fine. I could probably make it bigger too.

what about making several library files of related texures. One for rocks, one for trees, one for amusment park rides and then pick with texures you wish for your project. this would keep the file size down for each file and put them in some order so you could more easily find the exact texture your looking for.

I've made a texture file that is 4x64 across by 64x64 down thats the max you can have in one file
