Maybe this is the wrong place to ask, but seeing as you guys all have websites for your TR stuff, maybe someone can help me out here......When I try to visit my website online (remote), my computer only loads up the local website (the stuff on my harddisk) So now I can't see if the pages I upload to my server are right and are up to date. Does this sound familiar to anyone??? ------------------ Custom TR levels, textures and other TR goodies on www.driber.cjb.net

I use WSFTP for uploading files and there is an option to save the place were the files are on your harddrive so that you can easily find them next time. I don't use this option because the web page when its opening gets the information from the harddrive and not the server your uploading to. If you can change this then all the better.

I don't think you understood my problem. I use bullet proof ftp to upload files to the server and it also remembers where the files are on my harddisk, but that's not the problem. When I type my homepage adress (www.driber.cjb.net), explorer will go to the homepage ON MY HARDDISK and not to the homepage on the internet... I hope I explained it clearly now ------------------ Custom TR levels, textures and other TR goodies on www.driber.cjb.net

what about accessing your site through one of our link pages? also if nothing else worked what about saving all your off-line pages as text, and clearing your temp Internet files. seems like there should be an easier way though. you may also try using http:// in the address even if you don't need it, this may force the browses hand. hope somthing here helps... -rob IP: Logged |

well, deleting my temporary internet files doesn't work, I've tried that b4 but now I've fooled around a bit with the urls in my favorites and it seems that when I use the real url (not the .cjb adress) it works for some strange reason! weird....btw Robbase, did you wanted to be on my links page? ------------------ Custom TR levels, textures and other TR goodies on www.driber.cjb.net [This message has been edited by Driber_IF (edited 05-07-2001).] IP: Logged |
