ok... it is harder than you think.... open a wad with a baddie in it with strpix... you will see the baddie is made up with many parts, not just one... you have to replace and retexture every one to make a baddie... same thing with vehicles... hey, look at my vehicle http://www.angelfire.com/ak5/trlestuff/finished.html ------------------ Colin<>Trlestuff Levels.Wads.Tools.Sites.Stuff IP: Logged |

Once you retexture in strpix, it will be in the wad you edited. If you want it in a different wad, use TRWest to move it to the other wad.You would only use 3D canvas to change the mesh. To do that, use strpix to export the mesh to DXF. Export all the meshes for the object you are editing. I don't know about 3D canvas, but most 3D programs let you load more than one mesh and edit them together. After you edit the meshes, import them with strpix, retexture, and save the wad.

ok but how do you get the wad in stripix to begin with...give me an example will you? thats where i am having problems. sorry if i am being difficult. maybe core will re release an update to the editor and will solve some of these problems..like coming with its own ms paint or something so you can retexture etc etc.------------------ What would you do for a Klondike Bar? Well, I don't actually use strpix right now, but I think you should be able to do a File->Open or something like that. Go to the trle\graphics\wads folder and load the wad file.IP: Logged |

Not trying to make you feel bad or put you off this in any way, but...I strongly suggest you build a simple level before trying this stuff. Once you build and texture a level, you will understand how texture tiles work. Then you will understand textureedit, and combining textures from multiple TGAs. You will also need to understand this for texturing objects in a wad. If you have never done any 3D editing, then you won't have an easy time making your own objects. I suggest just trying to retexture an object first, and get that working in a level. This will get you used to the idea of object meshes, which you will have to understand to make or edit objects. Start small, don't try to do everything at once, or you will overwhelm yourself and give up. These are not skills you pick up in a day or two, it takes time and alot of hard work.
