I spend a lot of time in the TRLE forum -

Sometimes there's a lot of traffic and it's difficult to see when threads have been updated because they are no longer at the top of the list.

I know that threads are shown in Dark Blue when you haven't read them at all

But once you have they change to Lighter Blue and stay that way irrespective of whether they have been updated or not.

I know it is technically possible to have a posting coloured according to whether it has been updated since you last read it or not because I have seen this 'functionality' at other sites.

It does normally involve cookie storage on the polling machine, but most people would be happy to accept a cookie from a trusted source such as yourselves,

and it could always be a preference on the profile screen for those who'd prefer not to avail themselves of such a feature.

I believe it could also be stored on the server and likewise tied to the user login.

The TR series are excellent, the editor is definitely a step in the right direction, and the community appreciate the web space and other resources you offer so generously.

A feature like my suggestion above would be Royal Icing on the cake

Best Regards

Strange. For me, any threads that changed since the last time I visited are in red.
Do you have cookies turned on? And update your profile to remember your user id and password.

Link Dark blue - Unread
Link Red - Last link clicked in

Maybe the UK portal does it differently.
Going thru the USA portal, I just get light red if it changed since I last visited the site. If I reload the topic list, it resets it again.

If I read a thread and go back to the listing it's red.

Open another and go back to the topic list and that's red.

No distinction between previously read and those updtaed since I last read them

Admins:

Please consider adding such a distinction, if it's a UK/US difference please may we have the function in the UK too

Many thanks

How do you enter this forum? Do you enter via the forum summary page or do you have the LE forum itself bookmarked?

The cookie will only be set if you enter via http://www.eidosinteractive.com/forums/index.html

this is what happens:
if you login from http://www.eidosgames.com/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=Tomb+Raider+Level+Editor+&number=31 you won't see the red folder, but if you go through http://www.eidosgames.com/ the forum will be loaded in a frame and you see red folder at posts you haven't checked yet
