This flood control thing is VERY annoying. It makes it hard to ask or answer questions. I understand Eidos wants to prevent flooding, and that is good. But 90 seconds!?!?!?!? A post every 30 seconds is not flooding. Sometimes after posting, I move on to the next thread and am able to answer someone else's question, or have one of my own. A 90 second wait can be a long time. Is there any way to reduce the flood control waiting time?

Yeah! I hate flood control. It can be so annoying. Sometimes when I click the back button my post is gone, too. A thirty-second flood control would be MUCH better. I really don't think that you all have to worry about flooding. It's gonna be posted anyway, right?------------------ A Tribute to Lives Lost IP: Logged |

Obviously the main problem here is that sometimes a person can hit the submit button twice by mistake, thus produce 2 of the same reply. Or you think that it has frozen up whilst it is submitting so you click the submit button once more, just for good measure. Oops, you just created another reply again. Whilst I think that a 90 second floodgate is a small invonvenience for having a clean and tidy forum, I will put this question to one of the admins. Maybe they will be willing to compromise on a shorter time. I'll let everyone know when I hear something. Emma------------------ Emma: Stop it! Driber_IF: Stop it! Emma: Scary!

The HTML code behind the response form, uses a standard Submit buttonIt is just a matter of disabling the button (in javascript) once the response has been submitted..... That way flood control could be chopped to 15 seconds and still avoid submit button 'stutter' Perhaps you would like to suggest this to the admins ? {SMUG MODE = "ON"} ------------------ Conan the Barbarian [This message has been edited by Conan the Barbarian (edited 09-19-2001).] IP: Logged |

Yes you are right, the ubb forums are completely cgi, "javascript not included"------------------ Top 5 Favorite sayings:
