THE STORY HAS BEGUN ! Laura's Bedroom
This should give you an Idea of the scale of the level and how it will be textured I dont really want to tell too much because it will spoil the suprise, but Im going to work as Much as I can as I have been putting off editing recently. Thanks for posting the pic Drib Ps: Its supposed to be Laura's Bedroom not Lara's Pps: Laura is the owner of the Doll [This message has been edited by Driber_IF (edited 01-05-2002).] IP: Logged |

OK, in WinRoomEdit it is not POSSIBLE to make a single room bigger than 20 squares. How did you do this? How did you get the screenshot? Is this preview mode? I thought that only worked with textures on.

It's multiple rooms. He got the screenshot by clicking the magical 'Draw Doors' button.Great job, very original GokuZ! [This message has been edited by Raider Of Tombs' Clone (edited 10-22-2001).] IP: Logged |

yes, I don't use the preview mode option in the LE myself, I just build the level and test it live well GokuZ, like I said B4, this is sure one nice looking thing and I think it's safe to say that no-one else has done this before
oh, and about the 20 square draw limit, you can easily work around that by making the room dark (RGB 0,0,0) and place local lightbulbs, so when the screen distance is too far, it will just fade out in the darkness ------------------ Tomb Raider - Ancient Legends levels (2), walkthroughs, tutorials, wallpapers and other TR goodies on driber.cjb.net !!! new: all the TR1, TR1gold, TR2, TR2gold, TR3 and TRLA textures !!! visit the TRLE Chatbox for live online help with the LE IP: Logged |

I think Raider Of Tombs was rather talking about the fact that it takes forever to run from the one end of the room to the othercheck yer mail about this, I think my new idea will be far better than flees or rats to kill the time IP: Logged |

I would like to see it textured and check the frame rate. Bet it's kind of slow.

I thought that also, but after 20 squares or so, it fades to darkness, so you don't see any gaps in the game quote: Originally posted by aktrekker: I would like to see it textured and check the frame rate. Bet it's kind of slow.
I'm on a fairly old pc and I've tested the level fully textured and I'm glad to report that the framerate is fast as any other small rooms

Now that I think about it, the outside area around the pyramids had to be about this big. And if it doesn't display any squares more than 20 away, I guess it wouldn't be too bad.I guess the 20 square limit is for handling things like this. Keeps a consistent framerate.

Hi I was wondering if their are any good object designers , because im ready to put objects in the level and some huge things in the room would look cool like a hair brush and some Crayola (tm) crayons would look cool and some (tm) figures and toys would also look coolI dont mind if no-one does because it will encourage me to learn how to do it , it just means that the first offical level will be more like a tester level than a complete one as im going to do a hole house and its gonna look quite empty otherwise ------------------ Creator of The Highly Original "Lara's Toy Story Saga" Coming Soon to a Computer near you! Ive dicided to put this project on hold for a while , Ive got the Level How I want it but to be honest its gonna suck without some decent objects and ive had some other cool ideas that im going to do that will take time.At the moment Im learning how to Change Laras mesh (with the help of good ol' TTR) so objects and cool vehicles will be next. I was reading someone elses post (i forget which) but he said he'd spent the last 7 months working on the level something that takes that long is gonna kick *** , so Ive dicided not to rush it and just have a crappy level . Its gonna be one for the History Books and the Hall of Fame ------------------ Creator of The Highly Original "Lara's Toy Story Saga" Coming Soon to a Computer near you!
