For those of you who may not see it

- and would like a good chuckle

- I originally posted this in the TRSeries forum - Doh!

- I wondered why I had so many unread threads in front of me

- And why my message didn't show up

On a serious note:

- Several people have asked for help with building a mirror room.

- I'm working on a tutorial and have 'ripped' the Coastal Level one complete with the invisible crossbow pickup and spike traps.

- Before I go any further I need someone to test it to make sure I haven't made a boo-boo [well another boo-boo]

- I have uploaded the TOM file to my webspace at the link below.
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/david_thorn/4%20Others/coastal.TOM

- It is made using the original wad and textures from the editor disk.

- It also uses the original script files.

Will someone [preferably several someones ] test it and check it thoroughly

- i.e. play it through and try to walk on every square (including traps)

- then try to get from the start point to the crossbow and return to the start with it.

It should only take 1 min to download at 56K.

It's just the mirrored rooms and spike trap rooms.

If all goes well I'll post the PRJ complete with detailed construction instructions!

speaking of the mirror rooms, i was wondering if it was possible to create the effect of a mirror lara can walk through, so the mirror lara can pass into the real lara's half... similiar to the puzzle in atlantis (tr1) with some sort of mutant lara that mirrored real lara's movements.

i think it can be done, but the game crashed the second i tried to load it (the game that is, not the level, so maybe it was something stupid i did to the script )

Did anyone test this yet???

If not will someone please do so.

Ref pass through mirror -

I guess you'd need to have the mirror (door) set to opacity 2 to allow passage.

You'd want to make it double sided textured too.

In theory anyway

I remember seeing a custom level that had a mirror Lara in it. I don't remember what the level was, but somebody here must have made it.

TLF - I made a nice error when I first created my mirror room way back in the days when I had time for the editor. I put the mirror in the wrong place and instead of putting it where the rooms joined I put it one square infront of it. I nearly had a heart attack when Lara came out of the wall and straight for me! It's pretty cool really.

I've checked nearly all of the spikes and they seem to work. U can pick up the crossbow but Lara doesn't appear in the mirror room.

Thanks craziej2k

You should be able to trigger all the spikes, walk on every other square (i.e. non-spiked) unharmed, and retrieve the crossbow and return to the stairs.

In the original level, Lara is not reflected either.

I'd like to see her reflection too......

If you remember, in one of the earlier episodes there was a room where the strange 'companion' mirrored her movements and you had to manoeuver it into a pit to trigger an exit for Lara.
