After my FIRST VIRUS I EVER HAD i got another one!!!!! It is another worm. It is the sircam worm and gives more damage then the badtrans2!!!

Lucky me, i upgraded my outlook and updated my virusscanner!!!

The mail is very tricky, there comes a message that says,

Hello, how are you. I send you this file to ask for your advice. Thank you.

There is an attached file in pif or other. Dont open, it has nothing to do with tombraider!!!

Yes the virus is trick but just stupid or very ignorant peole Click those attached e-mail executables.
so if you don't fool around with e-mail attachemtns THEN it's safe...
but nooo you just think it's so damn funny to click those attached exe files..
then you wonder how youur cumputer id infected...
and THEN you just flood the forums with virus warning messages...
please admins : do something about this or else we'll start seeing a new virus thread each hour...

Some of the viruses are indeed triggered by users running infected files.

However there are also a number that exploit vulnerabilities in the operating system, browser and email clients.

The only way to avoid them is to have the appropriate anti-virus and firewall software in place.

There are many FREE or very affordable AV and firewall products.

Having cleaned up many virus strikes on both Business and Private systems (I'm an IT Consultant) I can't understand why people are still ignoring the simple safeguards.

Believe it - Without appropriate protection IT CAN AND WILL HAPPEN TO YOU! - it's just a matter of time.

Look Chaoslord. This is my first virus and i am not gonna post each virus i get. I only want to put it in here because many people mail each other from this forum and i only want that we dont infect each other. I am not infected but if somebody in the tombraider community gets infected then it will go fast.

Go into OE and set your preferences to Restricted zone. This will turn off all scripting. Then these things can't run automatically.

anytime that you get an email
that you don't recognize the name
of the sender---
click on it (to "trash"),then
delete the contents of your trash folder.
that's called "anti virus measures";

otherwise, you Become a carrier in
relaying these chain SirCam virus emails
to the contents of your "address book";
understand?
