smashing, old chap....just smashing!

but aren't those windows on the ceiling of the first screenshot suppose to be transparant?

maybe you could also crop away those unnessesairy white areas in your screenshots to save loading time and webserver space
any program will do that like MS Paint

Wow! Re-designing at its best. However, I would not want a demo. I'd rather wait. In the meantime, I may as well get on with my level.

Cool! I like your gym very much!

I have a queston and a suggestion -

Suggestion -

For the water textures over the pool, try using a different water texture for each square over the vertical door to the pool. They will animate more ramdomly and will look less wallpaperish.

Question -

Ok, so you need to make the windows in the gym roof transparent. How to do it if itīs not possible to connect doors diagonally? Itīs only possible to use toggle opacity and grates/etc. on doors... And doors can be vertical or horizontal only... So how?

John, here is an alteration to the first room in the Tutorial level with transparant windows:

If you want to use this method in your level, I will be glad to explain how it was done.

Phabius Phodes is right, you can't diagonally stack rooms. And it is also true that semi-transparant textures do not let the horizon through. But I have found an exception to that last statement.

When you simply texture the ceiling with windows, they will be black, because the horizon is not let through. However, if at some point in your field of view is a portal to a room filled with transparant color, the windows suddenly do let the horizon through. When you turn Lara's view so that the portal is not shown, the horizon disappears again. I found this out by making a hall that leads from room 0 (the starting room in the Tutorial level) to room 32 (the outside area). So basicly what you want is when you look up to the ceiling, you always have to have a portal in your field of view. By using that long, flat bit of ceiling as a portal, you would be able to see the horizon through the windows.

This might sound confusing, so I will post a screenshot in a short while.

After making the portal that runs across the entire room, select it (in the lower room) and click on toggle opacity. That will allow you to texture the portal with the windows.

If anyone needs the project file, I will gladly sent it via e-mail.
