Anyone else have this problem? I have ideas (lots) as well as practically the entire next three levels laid out, but I can't muster the want-to to work on them (and I'm not being lazy, either - I love making levels). For now it's pure drudgery.

How does everyone else get over this?

Sometimes you just have to take a break. It's called vacation.

Trooseveld. Thats normal. Whenever you finish a few levels you get the feeling your tired. You dont even want to touch the editor nor build 1 single room. Believe me i had this for a month. My problem was lose of inspiration for creating Jungle levels. So i started playing tr3. And it really enjoys me to play the india levels.

While playing i take a good look at the enviroment and lightning, texturing. And it gives me idea's. Then i start making my texture set and custom wad. After building 1 room with a tree and lighting it looks great.

I advise you to play India levels and Coastel islands level if your making tropical / Jungle level. Take a good look around while playing, feel the energy listen to te sound of the birds, monkeys of the level track....

lol getting psychological here it works though for me

just play summink else until you want to go back to the level editor. I did, I spent the better part of last month playing Rollercoaster Tycoon and now I'm hooked back onto the level editor

Whew!.....I was afraid it was going to be permanent.

I'm still checking here every day (just in case anything spectacular happens), so I'll still be around, just dormant for awhile.

Just take a little break That's what I did after three levels, for only a month, and now I have so many ideas!

just remember, take a break now and then, or you'll become an insane person like myself, who's having a nervous breakdown and who's marriage is a sham. (just close your eyes, count to five and it'll all go away...)

When it becomes drudgery don`t do it. Leave it well alone. After a couple of weeks you`ll know whether you want to go on or not. I haven`t opened the editor since November and have absolutely no intention of doing so ever again. I`m free of it and don`t want to get into it`s evil clutches ever again.

I agree it more fun to play levels than make them, but you need to think of the end result and how all the boring stuff will pay off, I suggest making something that will take months to finish but something that really inspires you (maybe its a place you wish you could go and explore or your fave film, series or dare I say Anime Cartoon that you would like to see turned into a game and make it at your own pace.

Remeber you could learn a New TrLe skill like remeshing objects or creating your own playable charicter. TRLE is at a really good point now and I see loads of possibillites for levels with new effects and features.

Keep the Faith

Cos it`s all consuming! When I finished my last level I started experimenting more with TR2wad and TRWest and other stuff but it all just complicated the process even more. There came a point where I just thought...."AAAARGH!!!!" And that was it!

But vacations made it worst.
