I am trying to build my first level. But I could not find answer in manual or any FAQ. OK, I am using the textures and objects from catacomb level. When I started out I loaded the catacomb.prj file, I then created 4 new rooms, put Lara in new starting place, then tried to test to see how it looked. But when I use tom2pc to convert to a playable tr4 file, it starts out and says Converting ...\catacomb.TOM Room Tex Infos: 303. Then it stops, and just quits. Doesn't do whole operation like with the tutoral file. Should I have saved over the catacomb.tom file like the tut1 file? It crashes if I rename it and try to convert. Should I have just started out new, and load the textures and objects without loading whole level? It seems to save any changes I made, and I can move Lara around, but I assume that the whole conversion should be done? Thanks for any help or suggestions...IP: Logged |

One possibility is that you have too many Room Tex Infos in your level. After, say, 255, crashes become more and more likely. Try deleting some unused rooms (I assume you added your four rooms just to see if your changes worked) way off at the other end of the level and then try converting it.IP: Logged |

You were correct on what I did, and what to do. I deleted a bunch of rooms, and got it down to 279 tex files, but it did the whole conversion. I just kind of wanted to have whole level there to use as a reference/ or for help, but looks like I'm on my own. Thanks...IP: Logged |

Well did the convertor crash, or just freeze? If it froze, then you're alright, it won't output info, but it will still convert. Just wait a minute and you'll be able to close it like normal.------------------ "...One Ring to rule them all. One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them..." Yeah, that's right - I forgot...Some levels are almost too much for Tomb2pc.EXE to handle, but not quite. So with levels like this, T2pc won't show conversion status, but it will still convert. If you don't physically get an error and a crash, chances are your level is converting fine. If your level does this and does not respond, wait until it does and then close down T2pc normally (not Ctrl+Alt+Del). Your level should have converted fine and should be playable. IP: Logged |

Yes indeed, I had same problem ones with my catacomb wad. The thing just froze when saying room tex. And after i waited 5 min nothing happened. I pressed ctrl alt delete and saw that the thingi didnt respond. Then i deleted my catacomb wads and all, reinstalled them custom from the cd, then I used the revised wads to update it, after putting my tom file back in the directory the conversion worked. I dont in this case my level had over 300 tex info. I think my wad was messed up.The editor is weird... ------------------ The best thing and last thing is to try ( ^_^ )=b IP: Logged |
