ive made this room with some traps and slopes in and i have a problem in this room when i'm playing in it, now and again the screen keeps flashing black and then back again and sometimes i can see the horizon as well, i can only get this to stop if i delete all doors in the room, but the trouble is that i need doors in this room so i can get in and out! any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, here is a pic of what trouble i am having

Firstly I would have to say, what are the dimensions of the main room. If, including the doors, the room exceeds 18 tiles, you will experience a see through wall.
If this is not so, perhaps you can give me more information including if you have upgraded your video card or drivers etc.

I have had a problem like this in a couple of rooms, if it's the same thing. You turn Lara in one direction and the room goes black, you then turn her a bit more and the room goes back to normal. Is this it? I have not seen the horizon though and the room was not that big, say 10 by 10 squares. Sorry I can't be of any help as I don't know why it happens but I would be interested to know why.

There are two possibilities here.

Your level has too many textures. Try reducing the amount of different texture tiles in your level.

or,

Your problematic room is located in the bottom right or upper left corners of the Editor window. Try moving your project to a place in the window where no rooms are near the bootom right or upper left corners. Donīt know why but it happens for sure.

The second possibility seems to be more like it.

Discovery of the Dissapearing walls etc

Actually, its not a discovery, I asked kristina once about this problem. She explained me why it happened. ( Thanks Kristina )

All rooms that are placed to the south ( in 2d mode ) get affected by some kind of bug... There isnt a real explanation for it, all i know is that rooms in the south-east corners are all affected by this bug. However moving the rooms will make it go away, just make sure you dont have rooms in the south-east corners. I dont know the excact range the bug has in that corner, expirment...

This is all i can help with

Truth is - I didn't - I just put up with it. But I was just looking at one of the maps where this problem happens and, lo and behold the room is in the south east corner just as Yasin and Phabius say. So I think that is probably the answer.

The only other thing I did notice, and I don't know if it has any bearing on it, is that the two maps I have containing rooms with this bug were made with the Library wad. What wad did you use?

Forget that about the wad, I just experimented with the Angkor wad, made two rooms and put them down in the lower right hand corner. Same problem, dark and light. I then pushed the same two rooms away from that corner and perfect - no problem at all. And my other map that had a bug room, when I checked it that room too was in the south east corner.

This problem is because of the limitations in the project files.
Each block in a room only stores textures for the left and north side walls of the block. The texture for the south wall is the same as the north wall in the block to the south. The texture for the east wall is the same as the west wall in the block to the east.
Hope that is clear.
What it means is, rooms at the very bottom of the map do not have a block to the south of them, therefore no wall textures. Rooms at the east of the map do not have a block to the east, therefore no wall textures.
It is not a limit of TR, it is a limit of the room editor.
This is part of the reason that 2 sloped blocks next to each other that have their slopes crossed, forming an X, will not display a texture between the blocks.
