because I could not get the atmosphere correct. Please tell me if you believe it looks more castle like now. Any advice is graciously received as I will not release it until it looks as good as it can.

Thank you.

Looks like a dungeon, what is really cool. Just that dark grey thing on the stairs, near to Lara could be replaced with something more carpet-looking, but otherwise, it's perfect

The only thing that does not like a castle is Lara herself

Maybe a different outfit could improve on the whole picture of your level. Can not give you advice as far as the screen go's it's 10 to 10

That looks truly impressive! It looks more castle-like than a real castle! Excellent work!

Too grey, needs more color (Perhaps do as E-tux suggested), but otherwise it looks great! Have you thought about doing rooms with a more royal feeling? Y'know, stuff like the Palace of Versailles, rooms that really make the player go "Wow, how did she do that?" or "I'm going to exit now and throw my computer out the window in frustration that I can't make stuff as good as that"

"I don't like the sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating--not like you. You're soft and smooth." - This is a pickup line in a galaxy far, far away.

I agree, who should change her outfit, maybe make her outfit grey to make the castle.

Looking VERY NICE!!

And I go allong with BRM: a majestic room here and there would really finish the 'castle-feeling'. But if you're going for the grim and dark look, maybe it would be out of place. I don't know...

Thank you so far for your opinions. I wanted to give a gloomy feel to the castle this time and as you say BRM this particular part in the dungeon does look grey, however I will be adding some colour into other areas.

Blood will be seen upon the walls and floors and the creatures that Lara will find will be quite colourful; the idea is to give it a nightmarish effect, and will make the player feel that they need to keep looking over their shoulder.

The point of this thread was the atmosphere above everything else though, as I am taking a long time with shadows and special lighting this time.

Lara will wear something more appropriate by the time the level is finished.

Do you think that I should give it an 18 certificate?

Good Job data. I agree with the others, perhaps a red carpet would make it look alittle more like a castle. You may also want to add some odd looking pictures (Ex: A portrait of a lady with a kinda faded skull behind it)
