Then a unoficial programer build Trwest tool that allow to extract and combine objects from the wad and even build new wad from the compiled tr4 level found in the full tr4 game.
Currently for work with the oficial editor everybody is working severals externals tools too, ttwest, strpix3, easy_texture, tr2wad, etc.
My unoficial level editor work almost the same way, all predefined "WAD" are all already compiled levels from games from tr1-TRc.
We have our trwest kind tool but called "trviewer" (now used for some oficial lvel editor user) who allow us to extract and combine object from compiled version and build our own custom "base" file for build the new level. (except for TRC)
Also we have our 'easy texture' tool called trtexture.exe program, that allow us to add custom textures to our base levels.
Along with the other tool called Rview exe for make a beter texture & ligh work and export the geometry to a CAD program, we can build powerfull and very great levels for tr1, trii, tr3, and Trc levels as good as those build for the oficial editor.
Check this web site where you can found some tr1-trc level bult with this editor.
