How hard will the editing be? I mean, will we need to know how to use any 3D program? Or all we will need is to click on the mesh and drag it around??IP: Logged |

I hope it's like this, if it is, i'll be easy to create new animations. Where is frame is a little different in cartoons, it's like that with animations except the frames are different in X,Y,Z locations (in 3D. And we'll only be able to edit the current ingame animations that Lara has, if we make new ones, that will mean editing the tomb4.exe, which is a no-no. IP: Logged |

I think you could make new animations to replace existing ones, like having a skipping young Lara instead of a running one or having a speed bursting Lara running with olympic style instead of hunkered down like now.
Will the source code be available?

While you can't make new animations that tomb4 will be able to use directly, you can do other things. You can create new animations that are called by other animations. For instance you could make Lara keep cocking the Uzi after she fires it. Also, some animations are hard-coded to a certain place, but some are switched to using state changes - special commands in the TR file. For animations that use these to change between themselves, you could do some prety neat stuff.Basically, while we can't create totally new and original animations, we do have a bit of room to maneuver. But beware - if you get it wrong, you end up with problems like the original wads, where Lara does a jig and doesn't go anywhere.

Yes, this is what i ment, you can make or edit animations to replace the current in-game animations. But by "new animations" i ment a completely new animation that require a new key command like pressing "k" or "o", keys that don't have any functions in-game. IP: Logged |

You can't assign new keys, but about the state changes aktrekker said, most enemies, but also lara use them. So I guess there is a lot possible. And the animcommands can make meshswaps for changing for example the outfit of an enemie.IP: Logged |

Hey Micheal(TRWad) The one with pistols next to her legs I told you about that one in msn, did you think it was an good idea? I wanna know will it be able to make lara do a back roll if you do this... when you crouch and press backwards she doesn't go crawl back she roll back by editing the animtion? will it also be able to make lara do somarsualts when she release the rope or make lara hang upside down? I wanna know these stuff becuase I wanna make them for my tomb raider movie game... Can you also make that lara do a backflip when pressing the back key inplace of a small back jump-Again by editing the anim can you also let lara make frontflips in the air when she swings forward on the rope and release? also can you make that you rope must be placed near a wall so she can kick her way for going forward and what about editing an Ahmet so it wont die so easy that it stay for a long time alive?
