I don't know if you can do it or not, but you could try TRViewer.

Thank you for your suggestion hteS but that didn't work

Might it be that the texture is somewhere in the wad and that i can change it like any other?

I think that texture is in the MISCELLANEOUS_SPRITES object. But if I remember, it looks kind of black and white to me.

The easiest way would be to tint it within the level editor. If you do it this way, drop back on the other colours rather than increasing the colour of your choice.

I am not aware of any editing tool that will allow this, however I hope that someone proves me wrong.

In my first level "City of Blezqi Zatsaz", I tried and tried to change the object tint for the rope but it did not work!
Itīs happening again in my 3rd level...
I think sprites cannot have the colour changed, as I tried to darken the darts and it did not work either...

But remeber:

Quite a long time ago one of the forummembers (was it geckokid? i don't know) was able to change the fire emmiter so that it looked totaly different from the yellow fire (it looked like green and blue circles dancing in the air).

Maybe this forum member could tell us how it is possible?

I think we can change it, because if you have the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider DVD and see the clip "Are you Game", there is a part where you see Lara swingging in a blue rope in something that seems bo be the Temple of Karnak or The Tomb of Seth.

Maybe you could use strpix to export the textures for the miscellaneous sprites object. Then change the color on the textures and import back again in strpix.

When you place your rope in your level, change the light of the object like yellow or blue, maybe it will work?

I don't think that works on nullmesh objects (objects that show that red pyramid in the LE).

well the rope texture are in the defualt_sprite object... you can view it with WADmerger and extract the textures and only change the colour of the rope not the letters or bubbles, just the ropen and import it to your wad and save and see if it worked
