And… We’re back!

After a month of touring the globe Karl, Brent, and I have returned to our desks and resumed planning all sorts of secret events and initiatives that will ensure 2012 is full of surprises. Karl relayed to the crew that his trip to Russia was an overwhelming success, while Brent immensely enjoyed his time showing off Tomb Raider in South Africa. My month-long tour of France, Spain, Germany, the UK, and New York was an opportunity of a lifetime.

In regards to my recent adventure, I’d like to thank all the Square Enix representatives along the way for being such fantastic hosts. Additionally, a heartfelt thank you goes to the wonderful Tomb Raider webmasters, forum moderators, and long-time fans I met along the way. The community events we hosted were an undisputed success because of you! Photos from the various stops on the 2011 Community Tour can be found here.

Eight artists revealed their Tomb Raider tributes and the 15-Year Celebration has drawn to a close. The Nerd Machine’s contribution is a gift that keeps on giving, however. Check out their product line-up for exclusive 15-Year Celebration t-shirts and art prints. Remember, a portion proceeds go to Child’s Play!

If you missed out on the month-long celebration, you can find the archived art ready to download for your desktop at tombraider.com/15. Additionally, we ended October with a handful of community contributions, which can be found here. Thank you to the talented fan artists who participated!

Congrats to Ricardo Mendes from Brazil who claimed our first custom Tomb Raider Xbox 360! If you aren’t Ricardo Mendes, don’t fret – another contest is currently underway.

You can find the first trivia question via Facebook, the second on Twitter, and the third tucked away in last five minutes of The Crystal Habit Podcast: Episode 4. Enter all three answers into the fields at tombraider.com/podcast. Hit “submit” and you’re in the running! The second contest closes November 11.

Are you up for aiding another good cause? Crystal D is perpetually ready to answer the call for charity, and is partnering up with the Movember crew throughout the month of November. This year’s theme is the “Country Gentlemen,” and as always the initiative is intended to support prostate health and other male cancer initiatives. To date, the Movember movement has raised $174 Million worldwide.

Crystal Dynamics is working closely with Movember on a number of fronts. You can follow and support the “Dynamic Stashes” via our Mo Space. Please feel free to donate to your favorite moustachioed member. Even I’m participating! We’ve also helped spearhead a greater gaming industry initiative, called the “Gaming Challenge.” You can monitor funds raised by participating studios, such as the Sandbox ‘Staches, Eidos Mo-treal, and the Forza Follicles.

That’s all for now! Till next month!
