The team is preparing to close out 2012 by taking Tomb Raider on tour. We recently returned from GamesCom in Germany, and are wrapping up PAX as you read this. Check out our GamesCom recap below, as well as a handful of other newsworthy updates!

As Europe’s largest gaming event GamesCom is an extremely important show, and we couldn’t be happier with how the celebration unfolded. Tomb Raider offered consumers a 45-minute demo via in a massive private Tomb Raider theater, as well as the first hands-on opportunity in Europe. The wait in line topped three hours the bulk of the show, with resourceful fans bringing tabletop games and chairs to keep them occupied! We also had a slew of talented Lara cosplayers pop by the booth.

On Wednesday evening we hosted a private community event, offering webmasters, cosplayers, and other super-fans a chance to chat with the team and play Tomb Raider at their leisure. Square Enix Europe was nice enough to whip up a video souvenir from the evening, which you can view here! When not on the show floor, Karl and I took part in a handful of interviews. If you’re looking to get caught up on any new information, you can find a coverage recap here.

We’ be heading out to Eurogamer later this month with another hands-on opportunity, as well as a slew of other shows that have yet to be announced. Keep your eyes on our Twitter, Facebook, and Blog for details about if we’ll be coming to your area!

If you weren’t able to make it out to San Diego Comic Con back in July, the exclusive Nerd Machine Tomb Raider tees are now available online!

The green unisex tees run $25.00 each and are exclusive to the online store.

The lauded Victoria & Albert Museum recently approached Square Enix Europe for aid in a special exhibit focusing on British post-war art and design. Several standout franchises were chosen to represent the video game industry in the installation, including Tomb Raider! Showcased through nine retro CRT TVs, footage from Tomb Raider (1996), Tomb Raider: Legend, and Tomb Raider (2013) highlighted the evolution of the franchise throughout the past 15 years. Take a look at our interview with the V&A below, discussing the exhibit as a whole and why Tomb Raider was chosen to participate.

In the past two months GoG.com has added a handful of classic TR games to their online catalogue. If you’re looking to nab Angel of Darkness ($9.99), or the “Classic Bundle” ($9.99) featuring The Last Revelation and Chronicles, now is the time to do so! Each GoG game includes bonus content such as wallpapers, artwork, and even behind-the-scenes videos. Yes, Tomb Raider I-III are also available should you want to venture back to the very beginning.

The impressive fan tributes continued this month. Check out my favorites below! Remember, you can submit your own offerings to community@crystald.com.
