? Welcome.
?
This is a Tomb Raider
Level Editor (TRLE) level that will feature ideas from
many level builders of the TRLE community. It is being
built since a long time ago (October 2001), and the
project is still growing.... and will keep growing.
J
In this page you can see
some screenshots of member's rooms, not all of them
though, and you can also see how the project is going. On
this page, you will also find the rules that these
builders are following.
This page should be
updated every time the project file is updated.
You also can check this thread
at the EIDOS TRLE
Forums for more info on this project, and you
can also check the load screen of the level by clicking here (created by El Diablo).
A page with all the threads already posted on this
project is being kept by KingSpyder, you
should check it out if you're looking for more info.
Thanks.
-- TREEBLE
? What is it about?
?
Since December 2000, when
Tomb Raider Chronicles together with a Tomb Raider Level
Editor came out, every TR fan started immediatly to build
their own levels. By that time, only a few sets of
objects were available and along the time custom tools
appeared, and now there are more than 800
released levels.
Many members of this project (listed in the chart to the
right) have made their own levels but some of these level
designers didn't release their levels. When the level is
ready, we will give away a listing with every level each
of these guys released.
Data had the idea of making a level
featuring the rooms of several builders. It was a
success. There were a lot of members asking to join the
level. Even though there were a lot of members who had to
drop out, there were still members who couldn't take part
in the project.
Also, due to some personal issues, Data had to gave up,
which would cause the project to be canceled. I wouldn't
like to see that, as I knew there would be a lot of
effort put into the level - and I wasn't wrong! I then
asked for the project file and I became the leader. So
far, the project has greatly designed rooms, even though
they're not completely ready!
? The Rules. ?
Stage 1: Designing the
Room
- Each person will
create a room (stacking is allowed up to three
rooms). Maximum size allowed: 20x20.
- Each room will be
connected to the next room via a one tile 4 click
room. Each member will add one where they want
their room to be connected to the next member.
- All rooms will be
completed one by one by each member in turn (see
list) and then sent on via e-mail to me
(TREEBLE).
- This is for fun, each
room will be totally individual in its design.
You don't have to follow anyone else's design.
- Each member will have
a deadline of a week to build his/her room and
then send it back to me.
Stage 2: Textures,
lights, objects and triggers.
Members will use the
ORIGINAL tut1text.tga for textures and the
tut1.wad for the objects. These files are
available for download here: WAD + TGA.
ARG errors
will be found. I am pretty sure.
However, when the project comes to you, select
the files tut1text.tga inside your maps\tut1\
folder or wherever it is on your PC.
NO modifications are
allowed on to the current project, except for
segmenting walls for textures. If you need to
modify a room, please notify us. You can't resize
your rooms, though.
Each member will
texture his/her tile block.
Each member can place
up to 9 moveable objects in
their rooms. The counter will increase in the
information box on the LE. Attention: static
objects are FREE for use. Just watch the movable
counter in the info box. It just can't go over 9
numbers above what it was before!
Each member can place
one audio trigger in their room.
Up to three fixed
cameras, and flyby cameras only when they are
extremely needed (in this case, only one camera
sequence, with 6 cameras max).
Don't use a
modified tut1.wad, otherwise, your room
might have 'butts' when it's on the other PCs.
Use the one offered for download above (it's exactly
the same that came with TRLE CD).
Also note that this is not the real wad, as it
still contains the standard outfit.
We will use ALL the
puzzle items available on tut1.wad. They were
randomly selected in a draw. These objects do NOT
count in the 9 limit (it means the below members
will have 10-11* movables in their rooms).
Lara object: Data
Puzzle Item 3 (Cartouche): Sick
Puppy + Von Croy (pieces)
| El Diablo (puzzle hole)
Puzzle Item 5 (Eye Of Horus): Seth
+ noangel
(pieces) | TREEBLE (puzzle hole)
Puzzle Item 6 (Hand Of Sirius): eTux
(item) | KingSpyder (puzzle hole)
Puzzle Item 8 (Hand of Orion): GeckoKid
(item) | AL_COLLOT (puzzle hole)
Secret 1: Apollo
Secret 2: DriberBallZ
Secret 3: Netslider
The members
above pointed can't place weapons on their rooms
- but, yes, they can place ammo. I will keep
control of which weapons were already used, so we
will easily avoid repeated weapons. If any member
don't want to host in it's room the object
selected, a new draw will be made.
Also, only three secrets -
placed by the members pointed above.
If a member doesn't need such objects, please get
in touch as soon as possible so it may go to
someone else.
* Only the
people who will have the puzzle holes will have
11 objects (both puzzle hole and its door don't
count in these cases).
Levers and doors are
free for use (however they count in the 9 objects
limit).
You can NOT
place an object on your room that is triggered on
another member's room. But, it can indeed be in a
tile block near your room.
TEST your room.
Without cheating. When it's ready, the members will
play it to be sure it's totally playable.
Each member will make
the final work on their room in order (list
above). Every time it's ready, the updated
project shall be sent back to me.
If you're in doubt or
would like to ask something that was not mentioned in the
above lines, please get in touch either by e-mail or the thread pointed at the
beginning of this page.

? Members
List. ?
Below is a list of all the
members that participated in this level. They all signed
up when the project started, and there were members who
gave up, or couldnt build due to personal problems,
and in place of those, new members joined us.

Note: skipped
members (teal lines) will do their parts whenever they
show up. If the level is ready and we have no news from
them, their rooms will be done by other members, but if
they appear later, we might release a revised version
containing their work.
Note 2: the members in the grey lines no
longer work on this project. They left it due to personal
issues and we shall respect it. As you can see, there's
already people to work on those rooms so no worries
there.
?
Screenshots. ?
Now you already know how
is the work so far on this level, you can have a look at
these screenshots of Datas rooms. The
texturization was just for testing.
GeckoKid
has finished his rooms, and in the screenshot below you
can see his room, which for sure is a highlight on the
level!

it here! ?
